Frequently Asked Questions

Therapy may be helpful if you are feeling overwhelmed, anxious, stuck, disconnected from yourself, or finding it difficult to make sense of your thoughts and feelings.
You do not need to be in crisis to begin therapy. Many people seek support because they want space to reflect, understand themselves more deeply, explore relationship patterns, or work towards greater self-awareness and personal growth.
-
Therapy can offer support with a range of experiences, including anxiety, overthinking, low self-worth, people-pleasing, relationship difficulties, life transitions, and feeling disconnected from yourself.
It can help you explore what may be happening beneath the surface, understand patterns in your life, and develop a stronger sense of connection with yourself and your needs.
-
The first session is a chance for us to get to know each other and begin exploring what has brought you to therapy.
You do not need to have everything neatly prepared or know exactly where to start. We can talk gently about what you are experiencing, what you may be hoping for from therapy, and whether working together feels right for you.
-
No. You do not need to arrive with the right words or a clear plan.
Sometimes people come to therapy simply knowing that something feels difficult, heavy, confusing or hard to manage alone. We can begin wherever you are, at your pace, and make sense of things together over time.
-
Yes, therapy can help you explore anxiety and overthinking in a safe and supportive way.
Rather than only focusing on the symptoms, therapy can help you understand what may be contributing to these feelings, how they show up in your body and relationships, and what patterns may be keeping them going.
-
Therapy can support you in exploring low self-worth, self-criticism, confidence issues and feelings of not being good enough.
Together, we can look at where these beliefs may have come from, how they affect your relationships and choices, and how you might begin relating to yourself with more understanding, acceptance and compassion.
-
Yes. Therapy can help you notice and understand repeated patterns in your relationships, including people-pleasing, difficulty with boundaries, fear of conflict, withdrawing, or feeling overly responsible for others.
By exploring these patterns with curiosity and care, you can begin to understand where they may have come from and whether they still serve you.
-
My therapeutic approach is humanistic, drawing on Person-Centred Therapy, Gestalt Therapy and Transactional Analysis.
This means I offer a warm, empathic and accepting space while also supporting you to develop greater self-awareness, notice present-moment feelings, and explore patterns shaped by earlier experiences.

Yes, therapy is confidential. This means what you share is treated with care, respect and privacy.
There are some limited exceptions, such as if there is a serious risk of harm to you or someone else, or where there is a legal or safeguarding obligation. We can discuss confidentiality clearly at the beginning of our work together.
