Therapy at Your Home

A man and woman are sitting at a round table in a bright, modern kitchen. They are engaged in a conversation, with speech bubbles above them indicating they are talking about a tangled line or scribble. The kitchen has green cabinets, a countertop with fruit, potted plants, and shelves with bowls and books. There are large windows with greenery outside.

Therapy at your home offers the opportunity to receive support in a familiar and comfortable environment.

For some people, attending therapy elsewhere can feel difficult. You may have limited mobility, caring responsibilities, health needs, anxiety around travelling, or simply feel more at ease speaking from your own space.

Home-based therapy can provide a warm, compassionate and confidential space where you can explore your thoughts, feelings and experiences at your own pace.

    • feel more comfortable in your own environment

    • find travelling difficult or stressful

    • have mobility, health or accessibility needs

    • have caring responsibilities that make appointments elsewhere harder

    • feel anxious about attending a therapy room

    • prefer the familiarity and privacy of your own space

    • want therapy to feel as calm and accessible as possible

How therapy at your home works

Sessions last 50 minutes and take place in your home.

Before we begin, we will discuss practical details such as location, privacy, accessibility, and whether your home feels like a suitable space for therapy.

It is helpful to have a quiet and private room where you feel able to speak openly without being interrupted. This allows the session to feel safe, focused and confidential.

Locations include Littlehampton, Rustington, Arundel & Worthing.

Confidentiality is still central to therapy at your home.

Because the session takes place in your own environment, we will think together about how privacy can be protected. This might include choosing a room where you are unlikely to be overheard, asking others not to interrupt, or arranging a time when the home is quieter.

If privacy cannot be reasonably maintained, we can discuss whether another therapy option, such as online therapy, telephone therapy, walk and talk therapy, or a different location, may feel more appropriate.

Confidentiality at home

Therapy at your home may be a good option if you feel safe, comfortable and able to speak privately in your own environment.

It may be less suitable if your home does not offer enough privacy, if there are frequent interruptions, or if being at home makes it harder for you to focus on yourself and your needs.

Home-based therapy also requires practical consideration around travel area, access, safety and suitability. We can discuss this together before arranging a first session.
