Walk and talk therapy offers the opportunity to have therapy outdoors while walking side by side.
For some people, being outside can make talking feel easier. Movement, fresh air and natural surroundings can support reflection and create a sense of space, especially if sitting face to face in a room feels intense or uncomfortable.
Walk & Talk Therapy
Walk and talk therapy is still therapy. The focus remains on your thoughts, feelings, experiences and patterns, but the setting can feel more open, grounded and natural.
-

feel calmer outdoors or in nature

How walk & talk therapy works
Confidentiality
Sessions last 50 minutes and take place in an agreed outdoor location.
We walk at a pace that feels comfortable for you. The session does not need to be physically demanding. The aim is not exercise, but gentle movement and conversation in a natural setting.
Before beginning walk and talk therapy, we will discuss practical details such as location, weather, accessibility, confidentiality, and what we might do if we see someone you know.
Locations for walk & talk are Littlehampton, Rustington, Arundel & Worthing.
Therapy outdoors is slightly different from working in a private room, so confidentiality needs to be considered carefully.
We will agree how to manage possible interruptions, passing members of the public, or moments where privacy may feel reduced. You are always welcome to pause, change direction, or stop the conversation if needed.
Being outdoors can support present-moment awareness. You may notice your body, breathing, emotions, surroundings and thoughts in a different way.
For some people, walking side by side can make it easier to talk about difficult things. For others, nature offers a grounding presence when exploring anxiety, overwhelm, relationship patterns, grief, low self-worth or feeling disconnected from yourself.
How walk and talk therapy can help
Is walk and talk therapy right for me?
Walk and talk therapy may be a good fit if you enjoy being outdoors and feel comfortable talking in a more open setting.
It may not be suitable in all circumstances, especially if privacy, accessibility, weather, or emotional safety would be difficult to manage. We can discuss this together before starting.
